Certain events are better than others the traditional races work quite well, but the demolition derbies are much more difficult. #Wreckfest tracks how toI put in there how to add in custom tracks to the files. #Wreckfest tracks modThe force feedback is not the greatest in Wreckfest. This works just fine with the base game, but doesnt exactly have mod support. ![]() #Wreckfest tracks fullIt's also important to set the Accelerator and Brake Saturation to 100% to use the full range of your pedals. Some tracks and events will feel better with an even lower force feedback. Setting this too high makes the wheel very heavy and hard to turn. As such, there is only a strength setting that can be used to control the feeling in the wheel.įorce Feedback is the strength of all forces. It lacks a little spark off the track but out in the. The force feedback in Wreckfest is very limited. Wreckfest is the long-overdue return of serious, high-quality destruction racing and, in that admittedly slim niche, it’s the king of the crop. For an in-depth look as to why, see my BOOST Force Feedback Analysis. Some games require Spring to be on for their force feedback to work, so I keep it at 100% as a general rule.ĭamper, on the other hand, is used, but it only makes the wheel a bit heavier at low speeds, which isn't helpful in this game.īOOST should always be turned off. Spring is not used by Wreckfest, so the value actually doesn't matter. 540° works very well and matches the on-screen wheel closely. Wreckfest doesn't provide a good way to change the steering angle, so we will have to change it in the Thrustmaster Control Panel instead. In this guide, we will first look at the settings you need to set in the Thrustmaster Control Panel, if playing on a PC. This isn't the kind of game that really needs much more than is provided, however, so it's still a lot of fun. It's much more about immersion than giving actual car information. Even fixed, though, the force feedback isn't very good. By default, the steering angle is too large and the force feedback is way too strong. Like most games, the default settings for the Thrustmaster TMX and T150 don't work very well, but are easily fixed. It's not really designed to be played with a wheel, but it works pretty well nonetheless. THQ Nordic bought Wreckfest’s developer Bugbear in November 2018 and acquired Carmageddon the following month, making this update a boardroom match. It doesn’t go as far as BeamNG.drive with its soft body simulation, but it’s a more approachable and arcadeye way of making auto metal crumple. I also played a couple of Wreckfest early on during his early access trip. I don’t really want to kill a ton of things in Wreckfest, and the retro zombies make the killing cute while ticking the nostalgia box. ![]() I’m glad the update keeps the zombies as pixelated sprites instead of modernizing them in 3D. It wasn’t the first 3D racing game I played – it was probably Screamer – but it was the first that you could do more than just drive a fixed route around a loop. I didn’t like it back then because of the ability to pop zombies (or robots), but because of Bleak City, which felt as close to an open 3D world as I had seen it at the time. I played a lot of Carmageddon when it was first released, or at least its demo. It’s a free update that adds two new tracks, Bleak City and Devil’s Canyon, from the original zombie smashing racing game, as well as the Eagle-R car and swarms of pixelated zombies to pop. Wreckfest is a racing game that involves both popping into the countryside and making careful turns, so today’s connection with Carmageddon fits in perfectly. ![]()
